From in-sloped turns to stone and wood steps, RTA knows and shows how to do it.

RTA’s recent trail work in Petaluma’s nearby Helen Putnam Regional Park includes installing in-sloped turns on the West Wind Trail making it more bike-friendly, rebuilding and realigning nearly all the other park trails to reduce erosion and improve their fun-factor, and working with the Conservation Corps North Bay to build over 120 steps up to Panorama Trail to allow those hikers seeking a physical workout an alternate to the steep eroding social trail previously used for this activity which was causing significant damage to the park.

RTA is leading volunteer work days In 2023 to make access improvements to the Putnam Pond with fishing terraces and stone steps.
